How to change strings for your Martin acoustic guitar?

1.Prepare tool

A set of acoustic guitar strings, a wire cutter, a guitar winder, a tuner

2.Loosen the strings and remove the old strings

First remove the strings: insert the upper chord into the chord and grab the handle to turn. Press the string from 6 to 1 to loosen the strings until all the strings are loose.

(If there is no winder, you can only slowly twist the hammer by hand). Then remove the string cone.

Pull the latch out with the upper chord. (If there is no winder, you can only use the key and the like to pull out the bolt. But this is easy to damage the guitar).

3.Wipe the bridge

It is a place that is difficult to clean up, of course, take this opportunity to clean it!

4.Install new strings.

Fix bridge, insert a section of the string with a metal head into the hole of the bridge.

Then plug the string groove against the string.

5.Fixe headstock.

The other end of the string passes through the hole of the knob.

The specific winding method is as follows:

The strings pass through the chord holes of the knob and then bypass the strings.

Wrap it around the top of the string to prevent the string from slipping. Tighten the strings.

6.Tight strings, use a winder to tighten the strings, 1.2.3 strings clockwise, 4.5.6 strings counterclockwise. Be careful to hold the string at the pillow and start winding.

Otherwise the consequences are serious! Will be drawn by the strings~

7.Prune. Use a wire cutter to trim the excess.

8.Tuning.

Test the bomb after tuning. (You can use the left hand to draw the string), then tune, then play, then tune, then play……. until the string sound is not changing.
